It’s not every day we get to see bands at the top of their game here in Greece. The announcement of this particular concert made me very happy. Not only are Wings Of Steel one of America’s strongest acts in heavy metal right now, but our own Dragon Skull and Stygian Path have everything it takes to make it big.

Just one day after Death To All’s electrifying performance, quite a few music fans gathered their pieces and headed down to Kyttaro for this concert. As early as 7 p.m., the first small crowds had begun to gather outside the venue.

The doors opened on time, and Stygian Path were the first to take the stage. I had seen the band before at the live presentation of their debut album “The Lorekeeper,” and it’s obvious that they’re quite polished on stage. They’re still a bit stiff, but I believe it’s just a matter of time and experience before they develop the confidence a band needs for its live performances.

The songs from “Lorekeeper” come alive much more on stage than they do on the album, and the band manages to convey the atmosphere of their music to the audience. They told us they’re working on a new album and even played a track from it (“Into Battle”), which I found very interesting.  They earned the crowd’s applause and handed the baton to the next band.

I’ve seen Dragon Skull 4-5 times, and they just keep getting better. They’ve already built up a core fanbase that knows their songs inside out. For me, “Chaos Fire Vengeance” was one of the standout albums of 2025.

Live, they’re electrifying. Their music, clearly written for epic battles, had Kyttaro pulsing with energy. Like Stygian Path, they’re also working on new material and gave us a taste of it with “Titans,” which was excellent.

The stage props that accompanied them, the sword that appeared toward the end, and the band’s overall setup show a group that is firmly on its feet. The crowd never stopped singing and participating throughout their entire performance.

To understand what we experienced. Parker Halub is 24 years old. Leo Unnermark is 29. The former is an impressive guitarist and the latter a stunning singer. Not that the other musicians backing them aren’t exceptional, but these two are the core of the band. I was truly speechless after the band’s performance. I had seen them two years ago (if I recall correctly) at Up The Hammers, and they were amazing there. But yesterday they were even better!

Songs like “To Die In Holy War,” “Winds Of Time”… and many others have  all the necessary ingredients to be considered classic compositions in the future. The band’s stage presence is unique, and they’re more explosive than bands with many times their experience.

The 14 songs and the one solo flew by in the blink of an eye. We’re talking about a top-notch performance by the Americans that we’ll be talking about for years to come.

I would have liked to see a bit more of a crowd. Knowing how many records they’ve sold in our country, I expected a packed Kyttaro, if not a guaranteed sell-out. Be that as it may, many friends were in attendance, and I was delighted to see so many young people at the concert.

Gregoris (the organizer and owner of Eat Metal Records) reminded everyone that people under 18 get in for free at his concerts and encouraged the parents among the fans to bring their kids to the shows. As far as I’m concerned, that’s a big “YES.”

Three gem-like bands put on a great show tonight at Kyttaro. I hope to see all three of them again soon!
