In a statement posted on their official website, Steelheart announced the death of their bassist, Kevin Chown, following an uneven battle with a terminal illness. Chown had been playing with Steelheart for the past 7 years. Steelheart’s statement:
Today is a sad day for Steelheart. Our bassist for the past seven years, Kevin Chown, sadly passed away yesterday after a courageous battle with cancer. Kevin put his whole heart and soul into every concert, every note, and every mile we traveled with him. Such dedication and friendship are rare indeed. We sent him our love as he passed—and now he truly lives in the free world. Rest in peace, brother. Your sound, your spirit, and your friendship will always remain with us.
