It took nearly 33 years for Ritchie Blackmore and Deep Purple to reunite on stage. As we wrote yesterday, those who were at the Jones Beach Theater in New York will forever remember this historic moment as Blackmore took the stage and played “Smoke on the Water,” moving us all to tears. In fact, as you’ll see in the video below, Gillan stands next to Blackmore, showing that despite any past disputes, the years have passed and all that is in the past… or at least that’s how it should be.
