Iconic rock legends Scorpions have officially shared the first trailer for Wind Of Change, a gripping new biopic from ESX Entertainment. The film chronicles the meteoric rise of the German rock giants whose timeless music famously soundtracked the collapse of the Berlin Wall and the end of the Cold War. The feature film is set to hit German theaters on January 28, 2027.

Directed by Alex Ranarivelo (Shattered Ice, Running Wild), the movie features a stellar ensemble cast. The Last Kingdom star Alexander Dreymon leads as guitarist Rudolf Schenker, alongside Ludwig Trepte as iconic vocalist Klaus Meine, and Ed Speleers as guitarist Matthias Jabs. Rounding out the cast are Luke Brandon Field as drummer Herman Rarebell, David Kross as Andrej—a close friend of the band separated by the Berlin Wall—and Golden Globe nominee Dominic West as the group’s legendary manager, Doc McGhee. The film is produced by Ali Afshar, Christina Moore, and Daniel Aspromonte.

At the core of the cinematic journey is the band’s monumental 1990 anthem, “Wind Of Change.” The track evolved into a global symbol of hope, peace, and unity, bridging the deep ideological divide between East and West alongside heavy rock staples like “Rock You Like A Hurricane” and “Still Loving You.”

“Developing this film has been an unbelievable journey, and seeing it finally come to life feels surreal,” said Ali Afshar, Founder and President of ESX Entertainment. “As an Iranian immigrant in America in the early ’80s, the Scorpions’ music personally helped me navigate tremendous adversity. Today, their foundational message of love, peace, and rock ‘n’ roll feels more urgent and relevant than ever.”

Afshar added, “This cast is an incredible powerhouse of genuine talent. I am immensely grateful to Fox Entertainment and Warner Bros. Home Entertainment for their unwavering support, and I owe a special thank you to Rudolf, Klaus, and Matthias for trusting us to bring their extraordinary life story to the silver screen.”
