Gary “Angry” Anderson, the iconic frontman of the legendary Australian band Rose Tattoo, passed away at the age of 79, just a few weeks after suffering a heart attack during the band’s farewell tour in Europe.
According to reports, Anderson returned to Australia to undergo treatment but was unable to recover from the cardiac arrest.
“It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gary ‘Angry’ Anderson on the eve of Monday, September 21, 2026, while surrounded by his loved ones and family here in Australia,” a spokesperson said in a statement posted on Rose Tattoo’s social media accounts. R.I.P.
