Last weekend (August 27th and 28th) Jack Starr’s Burning Starr performed at the ‘80s In The Park Festival (with Stryper, Quite Riot, Great White among others) in Melbourne, Florida and their set included a brand new song, “Hero”. Burning Starr’s lineup featured stand-in Darrin Fox from Who Was I, since Todd Michael Hall was touring with RitoV in South America, on vocals, Ned Melloni on bass, Kenny “Rhino” Earl on drums, and Patrick McMichael on second guitar. “Hero” will be included in Burning Starr’s new studio album “Stand Your Ground”.

Jack Starr

At the hotel where Burning Starr are staying there’s anxiety and agony about the interviews we have scheduled to do with Jack Starr, and Todd Michael Hall, as we have the luxury of the camera, but the extra pressure of the sound check before the show in Athens. Jack shows up extremely cool with a beer in his hand and tells us that he’ll be back after they finish soundcheck to talk. Indeed, he is back and the he is firing with all cylinders during the interview talking extensively about everything, the new album, his band, Virgin Steele, even Ritchie Blackmore… Enjoy – and don’t miss the video! “Hero” is the first music video from the new Jack Starr’s Burning Starr album “Stand Your Ground”. The album is out on August 25th through High Roller Records. It’s Jack Starr’s band seventh album and features contributions from Kenny “Rhino” Earl (ex-Manowar) on drums, Todd Michael Hall on vocals (RiotV) and Ned Meloni on bass guitar.

According to guitarist and leader of Burning Starr, Jack Starr, the band's new studio album "Stand Your Ground" is almost ready, while in two weeks the mixing process will begin. "6 more lead guitar tracks to go and then we are done with my part of the Stand Your Ground album and effectively we are done with the recording part of our new album , The next part will be the mixing and mastering . This album is really coming out great and I sincerely believe that it will be the best Burning Starr album yet, yesterday Ned Meloni told me that the lead guitar work on this album is the best I have ever done, I hope this is true but I do know that the drumming by Kenny Rhino Earl the vocals by Todd Michael Hall and the bass playing by Ned Meloni is the best I have heard from them , 2 more weeks and then and then it goes down the assembly line to the capable hands of Bart Gabriel. PS we got one more done today, now there are five left YAY".

BURNING STARR'S NEW ALBUM

Published in News

PRESS RELEASE: "Stand Your Ground", the long awaited new studio album of the legendary US Power Metal act Jack Starr’s Burning Starr , will be released on August 25, 2017, on High Roller Records. The effort, which is almost 80 minutes long, has been produced by Bart Gabriel (with whom the band already worked on the previous album, "Land Of The Dead"), recorded and mixed by Kevin Burnes (Dokken, Raven), and mastered by Patrick W. Engel at Temple Of Disharmony Studio. The release will be available as CD, double LP, and digital download. Like in case of previous two BURNING STARR albums, its cover artwork was painted by Ken Kelly - legendary artist known from his iconic works for bands such as Rainbow, KISS or Manowar.

Jack Starr’s Burning Starr was formed in 1985, by the guitarist and founding member of Virgin Steele, Jack Starr. After doing 4 classic albums in the '80s: "Rock The American Way" (1985) "No Turning Back!" (1986), "Blaze Of Glory" (1987) and same titled one (so called "orange album" from 1989), the band returned with a new line up featuring: Jack Starr (guitar), Ned Meloni (bass guitar, ex Joe Lynn Turner band, ex Devil Childe and Phantom Lord), Kenny Rhino Earl (drums, ex Manowar, now also in Ross The Boss band) and Todd Michael Hall (vocals, also in Riot V), and released the well received comeback album titled "Defiance" in 2009. Two years later the band released their next studio album, entitled "Land Of The Dead", which received wide critical acclaim by fans and critics alike, but now 2017 finds Burning Starr ready to unleash what they feel is their strongest album yet in a 30 plus year career.
