Meaningless prologue: Jeff Waters has wronged himself and his band. 15 studio albums in 26 years are a lot, with some of them being at least average. Also, all the line-up changes never gave a stability to this band. If he had dealt differently with stuff like that, Annihilator would probably have a larger status. But their live shows are something different, so we had to be in Piraeus 117 Academy on this cold autumn night.

The underground heavy metal scene in Greece seems to be more vibrant than ever nowadays as lots of new bands make their appearance on the musical front proving that they have absolutely incorporated the elements of the glorious 80s. Heavy Metal Thunder is really a mini festival that gathers some of the best up and coming outfits. Its third volume took place at Modu club and let’s see what the promoters had in store for us…

Friday night at the Crow Club with two great Greek bands, a new one and an older one for which a new era begins. Getting to the club I saw people waiting outside for the doors to open, which meant that the show was delayed, as I found out later due to a technical problem.

Flotsam And Jetsam in Athens for a concert... It sounds great. The historic venue “Kyττaro”  has hosted countless veteran Greek and foreign artists for decades.

There are moments that I really can’t find the words to begin with. So I’ll start with the basics. Oceans Of Slumber is not just another band. With an amazing second album they take place to one tour after another and we found ourselves very lucky to witness their first headline show in Europe.
