Another performance by Joe Lynn Turner in Greece, almost five years since the last one with Over The Rainbow, and if the presence of ex-members of the legendary band, as well as Blackmore’s son, Jurgen, was the perfect excuse to indulge into an appropriate setlist, that wasn’t the case on Sunday night’s gig. Why should Joe and his Italian band play only Deep Purple and Rainbow songs?

The fourth album from Joe Lynn Turner’s project Sunstrorm will be released on May 13th via Frontiers. Joe Lynn Turner says: 'This new Sunstorm album is the best of the series! We went harder... stronger... and heavier than ever before without losing the integrity of what the project is about...I call it Melodic Metal! The songs are very well crafted, the messages are profound, the performances amazing..and the sound is incredible! All involved can be very proud of such a great music. I urge anyone who loves great music to check out "Edge of Tomorrow", you won't be disappointed!' For “Edge Of Tomorrow” Joe worked with producer/songwriter Alessandro Del Vecchio (Hardline, Edge of Forever), Simone Mularoni from Italy’s DGM, as well as Soren Kronqvist and Daniel Palmqvist.
Tracklist: Don't Walk Away From A Goodbye; Edge Of Tomorrow; Nothing Left To Say; Heart Of The Storm; The Sound Of Goodbye; The Darkness Of This Dawn; You Hold Me Down; Angel Eyes; Everything You've Got; Tangled In Blue; Burning Fire.
The Band: Joe Lynn Turner, Lead Vocals - Alessandro Del Vecchio, Hammond organ, keyboards, backing vocals - Simone Mularoni, guitars - Nik Mazzucconi, bass - Francesco Jovino, drums

It seems that Joe Lynn Turner has secured a tour stop for Greece this summer. Here's the post

TURNER BOWS TO BLACKMORE

Published in News

Joe Lynn Turner posted as message on Facebook for Deep Purple’s induction at the Rock’n’Roll Hall Of Fame, as well as Ritchie Blackmore: “Congrats to Deep Purple for their long overdue induction ...And I am proud and blessed to be a part of the DP legacy.
However...Blackmore's absence at the ceremony was truly noticed. His credo always was and is to know your own truth and walk your own path... follow no one. A true 'outlaw' til the end.
So I am humbled and touched by the recent Blackmore post concerning my work with the band. His respectful and supportive comments of my efforts on the ‘Slaves and Masters’ album were better than any 'award' I could receive especially from an organization that has 'lost the point' many years ago. I agree that ‘Slaves and Masters’ is a great album as our collaborations have always been a mix of magical chemistry and artful integrity that will stand the test of time.
My heartfelt thanks and sincere respect to a true original."---JLT

The legendary ex-Rainbow, Deep Purple and more singer has become a regular visitor of Greece the past years with different bands.

Joe Lynn Turner

Published in Interviews

Joe Lynn Turner visited Greece once more for an unplugged mini-tour where he was playing mostly covers, not only of his own material, but songs that influenced him since childhood as he said. In the interview he gave to Rockpages.gr bombed us with news and exclusives. He talked about the brand new Sunstorm video which was shot in Vikos canyon that you might have already watched on YouTube, his top secret at the moment collaboration with a Swedish producer as well as his plan to go on tour with “originals” only next year. Of course, he couldn’t help ourselves and not ask him about Ritchie Blackmore’s return to rock, about which didn’t hold anything back. Enjoy! Interview: Dimitris Kazantzis, Camera: Yiannis Dolas, Editing/Post Production: OnTheFly

THE FANS DESERVE BETTER

Published in News

On a recent interview he gave to Eddie Trunk Joe Lynn Turner slammed Ritchie Blackmore about the re-incarnation of Rainbow commenting that the fans deserve something more than a covers band. Joe also said that it’s a mistake to use replacement musicians because Blackmore is a huge icon and deserves better than that. The singer also commented about his exclusion of the project: Well, I was shocked, only because for over a year… See, the truth is I wanted an authentic lineup for RAINBOW. I think the way that it should have gone down is an authentic lineup. I was talking to [bassist] Bob Daisley, [drummer Bobby] Rondinelli, [bassist] Roger Glover, [keyboardist] Don Airey… There's a whole bunch of guys out there that were really willing to sort of get involved with this… open up their schedules and get involved. And, apparently, Ritchie didn't wanna do that. He also expanded on how Blackmore’s manager (and mother in law) used his name as a member of the new Rainbow lineup, which wasn’t true and he also mentioned his ideas and proposals of making an extravagant Rainbow reunion followed by a live album and DVD etc. He once again expressed his surprise about the band Blackmore is joining and he said about the man in black himself: You've gotta understand something: he doesn't talk to people; he talks through people. I talked to Dr. Drew Thompson, I talked to Carole Stevens… I talked to these people instead of him. He always puts them in front of him so he doesn't have to actually converse with me — or converse with anyone, for that matter."
