This is on of the most important people in our music for the last 20 years and there is no trace of exaggeration in that. We are talking about Nicke Andersson who begun as the drummer in Entombed created the Hellacopters and is now the leader of Imperial State Electric. Having created an entire movement with his music and aesthetics in European rock’n’roll, he contributed in various projects always following his muse, collaborating with true legends. We will have the chance to see him and Imperial State Electric live in a few days for two shows in Athens and Thessaloniki. Given the chance of these shows and before we go pay our respect to the man we talked with him about the band’s latest release, his glorious past and the forthcoming visit to Greece. Interview: Yiannis Dolas

This was a show I was expecting eagerly for this year! You see, unfortunately, in Greece we don’t have the chance to see bands like this quite often, while this was the first time the great Nicke Andersson, Hellacopters’ leader, was visiting our country. So, every fan of this sound should be there, but they weren’t.

Dregen

Published in Interviews

Dregen, guitarist for Backyard Babies, Hellacopters, Michael Monroe, and many more is on the other side of the line on his cell phone, because he is on a ferry boat going to Finland, where his first ever solo tour begins the next day (the interview took place in mid-November). The talk is mostly about his first solo album, his love for fishing, and what does it have to do with rock’n’roll, his audition for Guns’n’Roses, his son, and much more.

Robert Dahlqvist, guitarist for the Swedish rock’n’rollers Hellacopters died at 40. The news was announced through the band’s Facebook page: "It is difficult to find the words right now but it is with great sadness we have to announce that Robert 'Strängen' Dahlqvist is dead. For ten years, we traveled around the world several times together. Shared tour buses and recorded albums. Played at clubs and festivals. It's incredibly difficult to describe in words what Strängen meant to us and no matter how hard we'd try, we couldn't explain how much we'll miss him. Our thoughts go out to all of the great memories we had together and especially to his family. Until we meet again". We should note that Dahlqvist recorded the seminal “High Visibility” and “By The Grace Of God”, as well as the last Hellacopters album “Head Off” (2007). After the band’s breakup he formed Thunder Express and Dundertåge while he also contribute on The Solution’s second album “Communicate!” At the moment the cause of his death remain unknown.
